Overview

Sitting high in the peaceful and exclusive car-free alpine village of Chamois, Chalet Coco is a unique and stunning mountain home. Surrounded by the quiet of the Alps and in winter, only accessible by cable car, Chalet Coco offers seclusion and ultimate privacy.

A perfect blend of modern and mountain tradition, this mountain refuge is a place to ski, hike and relax away from modern day hustle. Chamois is the only village in Italy that is completely car-free, accessible in winter only by cable car or helicopter, making this a truly unique “pearl of the Alps”. With easy access to the slopes, Chamois has its own ski area of 16km of pistes and is also well known for its excellent off-piste routes with incredible views of the Matterhorn. The larger ski areas of Cervinia and Zermatt are just 15 minutes drive away.

Originally a 17th century hayloft, Chalet Coco has been lovingly designed and restored to create a luxury, contemporary home and blends elegance with traditional mountain architecture. Think local stone, oak and fir, used together to create the ultimate Alpine refuge.

This deluxe chalet spans three floors and sleeps 8 guests over three mountain-view bedrooms. The ground and entrance floor is the heart of this mountain home and features a spacious open-plan living, kitchen and dining area with a wonderful central fireplace and a vast glass-fronted wine cellar.

The other wing of the chalet is home to the wonderful wellness and spa area, the ultimate spot to unwind after a day in the mountains. Featuring a Finnish sauna, Turkish bath as well as waterfall showers, the spa also has a gym area and a treatment room, perfect for an end-of-day massage.

The first floor boasts two spacious double suites, each with their own fireplace. Both bedrooms feature an en-suite bathroom, one with shower and one with mountain view bathtub and double shower.

The wonderful master suite is up on the second floor and features a living area with fireplace, bathtub and en-suite bathroom with double shower. Boasting a double-height ceiling, the master suite also has a mezzanine area with two single futon beds, making it an ideal family room.

On the first floor, step out onto the chalet’s large sun terrace, a wonderful spot for al-fresco dining, summer barbecues and winter après-ski. Guests can also enjoy complete relax in the marvellous, outdoor jacuzzi under the watchful eye of the surrounding Alps.

The chalet has WIFI throughout and for stays in winter, the chalet has a ski box and for the spring and summer, bicycle racks are available.

Good to Know

The chalet is accessible by cable car or helicopter only. During the warmer months, it is possible to reach the chalet on foot from Buisson, passing the historical mule track and its 93 bends. See more about the chalet location below.

The chalet is served by a house manager and concierge as well as an in-house private chef. The kitchen in the chalet is for the exclusive use of the chef and can only be used in the presence of the in-house chef.

The village is small and has two restaurants and two bistrot / bars.

Located in the peaceful and exclusive Alpine village of Chamois, the ski-in ski-out chalet offers an extraordinary mountain stay with the area the only car-free village in Italy. Inaccessible by vehicles, and at an altitude of 1800 metres, the village is only reachable by cable car or helicopter. In summer, it is accessible on foot from the nearby villages as well as mountain bike. Open all year round, the cable car runs through the day from the base of the mountain in Buisson.

With easy access to the slopes, Chamois has its own ski area of 16km of pistes and is also well known for its excellent off-piste routes with incredible views of the Matterhorn. Part of the Cervino Ski Paradise, the area is perfectly located for skiing in the larger areas of Cervinia and Zermatt in Switzerland, with Cervinia just 15 minutes drive away.

Guests can enjoy a whole range of winter and summer activities from snowboarding and cross-country skiing to snowshoeing, hiking and mountain biking.

The closest airports to Chamois and Chalet Coco are Turin (just over 1 hour away), Milan Malpensa at just under 2 hours, Milan Linate around 2 hours and Annecy in France and Geneva in Switzerland about 2.5 hours away.

Helicopter transfers can be arranged and can land next to the chalet. There is also an altiport here too where ultralight aircraft can land.

For guests travelling by car, there is parking at the base station of the cable car. Private transfers can also be organised.
