Why we love this villa
Villa Antica is a wonderful example of a larger Lake Garda villa which blends modern comfort and a charm to create a space perfect for families and groups travelling together. The gardens are generous and usable, the pool area is set up well for slow days at home, and the layout gives groups plenty of space to spread out.
We also like the position above Salò. It feels private and peaceful, but you are still very close to one of the lake’s most lively towns for restaurants, shops, ferries and evenings out.
Perfect for
- Larger families or multi-generational groups who want space, privacy and a pool near Salò.
- Friends travelling together who are looking for generous outside space and a good western-shore location.
- Guests who want a peaceful setting, but still like being able to reach town, the lake and the ferry port easily by car.
- A villa week built around pool time, outdoor meals, and relaxed evenings at home or in Salò.

Overview
Villa Antica sits in the hills above Salò on the western shore of Lake Garda, in a peaceful position surrounded by greenery. Just a five-minute drive from the lake and town, it combines the character of a historic home with the comfort and space needed for an easy group stay.
The villa is arranged over four floors and sleeps up to 13 guests across 6 bedrooms, with lake views from both the second and third floors.
On the ground floor, one of the two kitchens serves the outside area and terrace, ideal for outdoor meals. The main living level is on the first floor, where you’ll find the principal kitchen, dining area, sitting room and a separate reading snug.
The bedrooms are arranged across the upper floors. The second floor has four bedrooms, including two that share a lake view terrace, while the attic floor has the final two bedrooms along with a further living area with a double sofa bed.
Outside, the large flat garden, olive trees and private pool make this an easy villa to settle into.
Location
Villa Antica is set just above Salò, one of the western shore’s most lively and practical towns, with a good mix of restaurants, bars, shops, beaches and one of the lake’s best promenades.
The centre of Salò and the lakeside are around 1.5km away, which is roughly a 20 to 25 minute walk downhill. Guests should note, however, that the route begins along a country road, includes a main road crossing, and the return is uphill, so in practice most guests will find a car much easier for day-to-day use.
Salò is also a strong base for exploring the lake more widely, thanks to its well-connected ferry port. The surrounding hills offer good opportunities for walking, cycling and scenic drives, and the villa’s setting gives you easy access to both the lake and the quieter countryside behind it.
Although Villa Antica is not remote, we do recommend having a vehicle for stays here. There is private parking inside the gates for up to 4 cars.
The villa is around 30 minutes from the main A4 Milan–Venice motorway and approximately 1 hour by car from both Milan Bergamo Airport and Verona Airport.

Experiences
Villa Antica suits a week that mixes relaxed time at home with easy outings around the western shore.
A private boat day from Salò is one of the simplest ways to see more of the lake, then come back for a swim and dinner at the villa.
For groups, pre-stocking or a first-evening meal can make arrival day much easier, especially if you want to settle in without needing to head straight back out.
Salò also works well for lakeside lunches, evening aperitivi and ferry days, while the surrounding hills offer good options for walking, cycling and scenic drives.

We had a very lovely stay with our family (8 adults and 4 children). The rooms were big and the beds very comfortable. Airconditioning in every bedroom was excellent! Also very quiet during the night. It is also great that there are 2 kitchens (we mostly used the one downstairs). The swimming pool is perfect for little kids with the staircases. Ample parking space for at least 4 or 5 cars The wifi connection was often really slow and disconnected sometimes. Even after we reset the router it did not improve that much. The water in the swimming pool is not heated so during some “colder” days (20-24°) the kids were too cold during swimming

A fantastic holiday, there were 5 couples of friends on motorbikes and we enjoyed the large spaces of the villa. The outdoor garden is very well kept and we always ate on the terrace, using the large barbecue! The pool is not very big but still very nice. We also took wonderful walks near the villa, in places that seemed enchanted. We will definitely be back!
