Villa Castelli
Lake Como, RezzonicoOverview
Villa Castelli is a magnificent luxury villa near to Menaggio on Italy’s famous Lake Como. The villa has looked out over Como’s western shore since the early 1900s with the next-door castle dating back to the 14th century. The real pearl of this villa are the stunning and unspoiled views of the lake from every room.
The lake and pebbled beach are just a few minutes’ walk away with the village centre of Rezzonico and a lovely restaurant also nearby. A 10-minute drive brings you to the heart of the well-known town of Menaggio.
Villa Castelli has been extensively restored over recent years and has resulted in a luxurious, high-end holiday villa. Although with lots of modern touches, features such as original floor tiles in many of the rooms are a lovely reminder of the villa’s past and heritage. A new swimming pool has also been added in the beautiful gardens with magnificent views over the lake and mountains.
The villa sleeps up to 12 guests over 5 bedroom suites and is well suited to larger groups with children. The ground floor is host to the first bedroom – it has twin beds and ensuite bathroom with large walk-in shower. Head upstairs to three double bedrooms, all ensuite with walk-in showers and all with lake views.
As well as the four bedrooms, there’s a snug attic room too that sleeps four. It’s ideal for children as the four beds are all single and it is possible to add a fifth, smaller pull-out bed on request. This one is strictly for children. The highlight of the attic is the play area, making the space feel like a tucked-away, secret part of the villa where children can play (and be free of the grown-ups!). There’s a bathroom here too.
Downstairs, enjoy getting everyone together in the open-plan living/dining area. There’s plenty of space for everyone and a fully equipped kitchen, a perfect place to try your hand at some local lake dishes.
Doors lead outside to the terrace, a perfect spot to watch the boats bob on the water as you enjoy breakfast in the sun or to set up the sunset barbecue and gaze over the lake and mountains beyond.
Step down to the wonderful gardens and relax poolside with a spritz, play games with the kids or simply cool off during sun soaked afternoons – the pool has great exposure and is furnished with sun loungers and parasols.

It’s largely traffic free, offering real tranquility and there is a wonderful Pizzeria and Trattoria just a stone’s throw from the villa.
There are plenty of wonderful places within driving distance, giving you a real taste of this wonderful area. For the more adventurous, Lake Como offers a great selection of water sports and if you fancy something a little slower, try a sunset lake cruise.

As a large family, we had a wonderful 3-week summer in this great house with a clear view of the lake and mountains. It is located in an enchanted little village that has fallen out of time and offers enough space for 12 people. It has been renovated and furnished with a lot of love and very tastefully (+ contemporary). Everything, really everything* is available to cook, play, read, … just feel good. The on-site support from Vittoria was also excellent and the professional guest information enabled us to settle in quickly. We would love to come back!
*… I just couldn’t find a lemon squeezer 😉

We were a group of 6 adults and 4 children staying there for one week. The stay was very nice and we are sure to come back. The house and bathrooms are very clean and the rooms are spacious. The decoration is pretty but also not over-decorated. There is a lot of attention given to the details – you find everything you could possibly need. The view from the pool is just stunning.
The tips from the manager were especially helpful and there are things to do for all ages: Visiting old towns, going hiking, going on a boat, swimming or SUP paddling in the lake. There is a small store in town that has everything you need and large stores in short driving distance.
See you next year! -
We went on a family holiday to lake Como and booked this beautiful house. We were with 6 adults and 2 little children and it had plenty of space for all of us. The Villa is beautiful, the views are breathtaking and everything is very clean and nicely decorated. It had everything you possibly need. the surroundings are beautiful too. Loved the city town Menaggio which is super close by. We also went on the ferry to Bellagio. Would highly recommend staying there and would love to return somewhere in the future
