Overview

Set on terraced gardens and just a few hundred metres from the lovely little town of Gargnano, luxury Villa Limone is in full view of wonderful Lake Garda. The terrace really is the perfect spot for morning coffee or evening aperitivo with the lush green of the mountains dotted with Italian villages making a stunning backdrop.

The villa is a new and modern restoration of a beautiful “limonaia” – an old citrus grove, traditional of this area and dating back to the 1700s. Recently renovated, the villa is a perfect blend of indoor and outdoor living and offers exclusive privacy and quiet.

Villa Limone is a lake-front villa and accommodates up to 9 guests over four bedroom suites. The master suite has a queensize double bed and ensuite bathroom and its own private balcony. There are two further double, ensuite bedrooms and the fourth bedroom, again ensuite, has three single beds. All the bathrooms have showers and there is a 5th full bathroom next to the pool.

Built facing the lake, the modern interior is bright and spacious and retains some wonderful original features including stone walls and pillars. The two lounge areas are bright and airy and there is a fully equipped kitchen, perfect to try your hand at some local dishes!

There’s a large dining area in the kitchen and another on the terrace, perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner al-fresco! There’s a barbecue outside too – nothing beats a wonderfully grilled lake fish and a good glass of local Lugana!

There is free WIFI through the villa and air conditioning in two of the four bedrooms. The third and fourth bedrooms are positioned to be naturally cool and do come with fans and the sitting room on the first floor as well as the dining room are also air conditioned.

The outside areas of the villa are fully furnished with sun loungers along the waterfront and lovely terraced gardens with olive and lemon trees. The house has been designed to seamlessly integrate with the gardens, bringing inside and out together as one beautiful living space.

The gardens are also home to the wonderful swimming pool. Sun loungers and a covered gazebo with sofas make this the perfect spot to spend your days or simply relax after a day of exploring.

Location

You will need a vehicle here to really make the most of this wonderful area but the town, lake, shops and restaurants of Gargnano are within easy walking distance.

Parking for the villa is in a public car park. Villa Limone is around 300 metres away up a steep narrow road but you will receive a private baggage service which will bring both you and your luggage to the villa entrance.

Due to the location, the villa has total and absolute privacy usually impossible in a centrally located property.

Located on the south west coast of Lake Garda, Villa Limone is in the centre of the wonderful town of Gargnano. It’s a great base for exploring Lake Garda and there is a ferry port here too.

A city steeped in history and charm, Gargnano started as a monastery in the 1200s, where the monks grew lemons. And from here begins the long and fascinating history of the “limonaie” of Gargnano. The town blossomed and grew, lemons its principle industry, and it was completely hedged in by mountains and lakes, isolated with access only from the lake until the 1930s when the lakeside highway was built. As a result Gargnano has developed and maintained an extraordinary and unique local flavour and charm.

The town has a nice choice of quaint small local shops and restaurants. Though only a small village, Gargnano boasts not one, but two Michelin star restaurants: Villa Feltrinelli and la Tortuga. And for less formal nights out, there are a number of excellent restaurants and pizzerias, some right on the waterfront with lakeside tables.
