Villa Limone

Overview

Set on terraced gardens and just a few hundred metres from the small town of Gargnano, Villa Limone sits in full view of Lake Garda. The lush green of the mountains dotted with lakeside villages makes for a stunning backdrop.

The villa is a recent and modern restoration of a beautiful “limonaia” – an old citrus grove, traditional of this area and dating back to the 1700s. Recently renovated, the villa is a perfect blend of indoor and outdoor living and offers exclusive privacy and quiet.

Villa Limone is a lake-front villa and accommodates up to 8 guests over four bedroom suites. The master suite has a queensize double bed and ensuite bathroom and its own private balcony. There are a further three double bedrooms. All the bathrooms have showers and there is a 5th full bathroom next to the pool.

Built facing the lake, the modern interior is bright and spacious and retains some wonderful original features including stone walls and pillars. The two lounge areas are bright and airy and there is a fully equipped kitchen.

There’s a large dining area in the kitchen and another on the terrace, perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner al-fresco! There’s a barbecue outside too.

The outside areas of the villa are furnished and lovely terraced gardens with olive and lemon trees. The house has been designed to seamlessly integrate with the gardens, bringing inside and out together as one beautiful living space.

The gardens are also home to the wonderful private pool. Sun loungers and a covered gazebo with sofas make this the perfect spot to spend your days or simply relax after a day of exploring.

2 double rooms with en-suite bathroom and air conditioning.

1 double room with en-suite bathroom and ceiling fan.

1 double / twin room. This room has twin beds that can be joined on request. This room has a private terrace.

There are 5 bathrooms in total, all with showers. The 5th bathroom is near the pool.

Kitchen

The home has a fully equipped kitchen, complete with dishwasher, oven and Nespresso coffee machine.

Swimming Pool

The villa boasts a large private pool measuring 15m x 5m. It is complete with deck chairs and sun loungers and the covered gazebo area has sofas and lounge furniture.

Good to Know

There is air conditioning in two of the four bedrooms while the third and fourth bedrooms are positioned to be naturally cool and do come with fans. The sitting room on the first floor as well as the dining room are also air conditioned.

The villa has WIFI throughout and laundry facilities are available. Hair dryers are provided in all bathrooms.

Location

You will need a vehicle here to really make the most of this wonderful area but the town, lake, shops and restaurants of Gargnano are within easy walking distance.

Villa Limone is around 300 metres from the parking area up a steep narrow access road but you will receive a private baggage service which will bring your luggage to the villa entrance.

There is no private parking directly at the villa but guests are provided with 2 parking passes that allow parking in any public parking space in the town. There are two public car parks directly below the villa, about 150m from the home, via the pedestrian path (with steps).

Due to the location, the villa is very private and quite unique given its centrally located property.

Located on the south west coast of Lake Garda, Villa Limone is in the centre of the wonderful town of Gargnano. It’s a great base for exploring Lake Garda and there is a ferry port here too.

A city steeped in history and charm, Gargnano started as a monastery in the 1200s, where the monks grew lemons. And from here begins the long and fascinating history of the “limonaie” of Gargnano. The town blossomed and grew, lemons its principle industry, and it was completely hedged in by mountains and lakes, isolated with access only from the lake until the 1930s when the lakeside highway was built. As a result Gargnano has developed and maintained an extraordinary and unique local flavour and charm.

The town has a nice choice of quaint small local shops and restaurants. Though only a small village, Gargnano boasts not one, but two Michelin star restaurants: Villa Feltrinelli and la Tortuga. And for less formal nights out, there are a number of excellent restaurants and pizzerias, some right on the waterfront with lakeside tables.

Villa Limone is just under a 1.5 hour drive from both Milan Bergamo and Verona airports.
