What an amazing place to stay.
We totally lucked out with this last minute find. Everything about the villa and the hosts deserves full marks.
The villa has been renovated with such attention to detail and is the perfect mix of old and new. The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated, air conditioned (a must in the summer in Italy) and everything is at your finger tips. In fact, I desperately tried to find something that the hosts might have forgotten to include but, actually, couldn’t find a thing! The kitchens (two indoor, one outdoor) are fully equipped, the gym is excellent, way better than your average home gym, even the box of pool toys includes balls and dive sticks to entertain the teenagers!
The grounds are superb, what a treat. A 25m pool, a putting green, hammocks, a games room, a gazillion sun beds dotted around to make the most of the sun and shade. And no sharing, it’s hard to believe the size of the plot is exclusively yours to enjoy.
Juergen and Isabel were the perfect hosts. They kept in regular contact, by WhatsApp, with offers to go to the supermarket and recommendations of where to go, where to eat but left us to our own devices, day to day.
On arrival, the kitchen was stocked with not just the few things we’d ask for (cola, fruit juice, berries and yoghurt), but lots more to keep us going for the weekend – an abundance of fresh fruit and salad, local cheeses, pasta and fresh bread.
You don’t actually need to leave the villa all week if you don’t want to. We had a car, however, and wanted to visit some of the beautiful towns on lake Garda, as well as venture a little further to Verona and keep the teenagers happy at Gardaland. The villa and the area ticked all the boxes for us. Far enough away from the tourist hot spots to enjoy the peace and quiet (esp. in the school holidays) but close enough to explore a lakeside town in the morning, come back and enjoy the pool for a few hours then head out in the evening for a lovely meal.
We stayed for just a week but 10-14 days would have been better, we’ll just have to go back another year!!
If you’re looking for some quality downtime, in a beautiful part of the world, with hosts that go above and beyond, you should seriously consider this wonderful villa.
Thank you Juergen and Isabel.

To be honest, we don’t even know where and how to start writing a review because it’s not easy to put this lovely stay into the right words without sounding exaggerated or unbelievable.
It’s best to start with Villa Mocasina itself:
This house truly has character and soul! You will be welcomed into a tasteful and well-furnished house that is harmonious down to the last detail.
Fitness cellar with excellent equipment, differently furnished bedrooms and bathrooms – something for every taste.
3 perfectly equipped kitchens where nothing was missing. Even the knives were sharp, which is really rare.
Overall: Top!
