The quaint town of Peschiera del Garda is found in the south east of the Lake. Its special attraction is the delightful old town centre, which is in the middle of an enormous fortress and completely surrounded by water. There are many pretty shops and small bars in the narrow lanes of the old town.
Monday is market day: an array of market stalls with local fashions and produce for you to explore before relaxing next to the lake drinking a Cappuccino!
Its location means it is the perfect spot to explore the surrounding areas; Sirmione is not far away, Gardaland and Canevaworld are close by, and the Autostrada connecting you to Verona, Venice and Milan is within easy reach.
Mainly a flat area, it is the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely bike ride, either along the lake to Lazise or Bardolino or along the banks of the river Mincio to the stunning Valeggio Sul Mincio and Borghetto.
Peschiera is on the Venice – Milan train line with the station in walking distance only a stone’s throw from the old town centre.
A great day-out option is to use the local ferry service, an exciting alternative way to visit the other beautiful towns around the lake.
