Overview

Villa Rustico sits in the hills above Garda in a peaceful position with wide views over the lake. It’s a traditional Italian home with terracotta floors and exposed beams, recently renovated, and it feels warm and easy rather than overly formal.

The villa is arranged over two floors. The ground floor is the main living level, with the living room, dining area and fully equipped kitchen. Patio doors open onto the terrace, which quickly becomes the heart of the stay for al-fresco breakfasts, pool time and long summer evenings.

Upstairs, all the bedrooms are on the first floor and each has air conditioning. One is arranged as a family room, with two single beds on the lower level and a double bed on a mezzanine above. The three further bedrooms are doubles, including one with its bed positioned on a mezzanine and beautiful lake views. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which makes the layout very practical for a group of up to 10.

Outside, you have an acre of gardens, an olive grove and a private pool, all framed by beautiful lake-and-hills views.

Location

Villa Rustico is on the east side of Lake Garda, close to the lively lakeside town of Garda, known for its restaurants, bars and cafés, plus good shopping and a weekly summer market.

The walk into Garda is around 20 minutes, but please note it’s uphill on the way back. For guests with walking difficulties, we recommend relying on a vehicle for evenings out.

Garda has a ferry port, and ferries are one of the simplest ways to explore more of the lake without driving. If you’re planning to use the ferries, our Lake Garda ferry guide is a helpful starting point.

The villa is reached via a narrow, unpaved track leading to the property gates, and parking is available for two cars.

The villa is approximately 40 minutes from Verona Airport, and around 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes from Milan Bergamo Airport.

Good to know

The walk into Garda takes around 15–20 minutes, but the return is steep and uphill. Guests with reduced mobility will find a car the more practical option.

The final approach to Villa Rustico is along a narrow, unpaved road leading to the property gates. Arrive slowly, especially in a low-clearance vehicle.

All bedrooms have air conditioning.

The private pool is unheated and is normally open from around 20 April until 1 October, weather permitting.

The pool is approximately 2m deep, so children and less confident swimmers should be supervised closely.

A cot can be provided on request.

Pets are accepted.

The property does not accept groups made up entirely of guests aged 25 or under.

Covered parking is available for 2 cars.

Experiences

Villa Rustico is ideal for a very classic Lake Garda week: slow mornings at the villa, a swim, and then into Garda for the buzz of the lakefront.

• A ferry day from Garda is one of the easiest ways to explore other towns without driving, then you can come home for a sunset barbecue.
• If you’d like an easy “first night” arrival, pre-stocking works well here, so everything is ready and you can settle straight into the terrace and view.
