Overview

Villa Rose Estate brings together Villa Juliet Rose and Villa Saffron, two neighbouring homes set among olive trees in the hills above Toscolano Maderno.

Together they provide seven en-suite bedrooms, two kitchens, several living and dining areas, two private pools and a range of wellness and leisure facilities. The estate sleeps 14 guests in its permanent bedrooms, with four additional single beds available in the larger rooms when needed, taking maximum occupancy to 18.

The two villas have quite different personalities.

Villa Juliet Rose has a lighter, more contemporary feel, with three en-suite double suites, lake-facing living spaces and a dedicated wellness area with Finnish sauna, large shower and hydromassage.

Villa Saffron is the more historic of the two, originally designed in the 1920s by Giancarlo Maroni. Its four en-suite bedrooms are accompanied by a panoramic living room, piano, billiard room and gym, with period floors and fireplaces giving the house much of its character.

Outside, each villa has its own private swimming pool and outdoor areas, while the wider setting is defined by mature gardens and olive groves with wide views across Lake Garda.

For a large group, the advantage is simple: everyone stays together, but nobody needs to live on top of one another.

Location

Villa Rose Estate sits above Toscolano Maderno on Lake Garda’s western shore, around 3km from the town and lakefront.

The small hamlet of Gaino is within walking distance and has a traditional local restaurant, giving you one easy option close to the estate. For supermarkets, a wider choice of restaurants and access to the lake, Toscolano Maderno is a short drive away.

Toscolano Maderno has regular passenger ferry services as well as the car ferry across to the eastern shore, making it a useful base for exploring both sides of Lake Garda.

A vehicle is needed for stays here. Private parking is available within the estate.

Verona and Milan Bergamo airports are both a little over one hour away by car. The estate can also accommodate helicopter arrivals by prior arrangement.

The outdoor Jacuzzi at Villa Saffron is closed during low season.

Fresh bread and croissants are delivered each morning, except Sundays during low and mid season.

A welcome selection is provided on arrival with local wine, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, fresh fruit, water and basic kitchen provisions.

For 7-night stays, midweek villa cleaning with a linen change is included.

Wi-Fi and laundry facilities are available.

For groups wanting one formal meal together, the two villas are normally set up independently. Additional furniture or event-style setup may be required depending on the group size and how you would like to dine together.

The estate works best for couples who want a small destination wedding where their closest family and friends can stay together, while additional guests join for the celebration itself.

Villa Rose Estate is well suited to a slower group stay where the estate itself is a large part of the holiday.

A private boat day from Toscolano Maderno is an easy way to explore more of the lake before returning for an afternoon around the pools. Wine tastings, cooking classes and local food experiences can also be arranged.
