Moniga is well known as the birth place of the Chiaretto wine and surrounded by olive trees, is the starting point of the 10km panoramic drive through the region where this famous wine is cultivated, leading all the way to Salò. The centre of the village is dominated by the 13th century medieval castle.

As well as its historial value, Moniga del Garda also offers excellent facilities including tourist information office, post office and bank as well as the popular beaches and port.

The surrounding area is known as the Valtenesi and is an area dominated by terraces of olive trees and vineyards. The region is dotted with castles, villas and small villages and is renowned for its olive oil and wine.
