Malcesine is located on the north-eastern shore and is one of the most popular and loved resorts on the Lake. The beautiful town with its narrow lanes, small harbour and pretty walkway along the Lake invites visitors to have a relaxing stroll with incredible views of the mountains overlooking the Lake.

The Scaliger castle stands in solitary splendour on higher ground and offers great views of the Lake. The castle offers the perfect setting for weddings, with the option to tie the knot on a terrace with panoramic views of the Lake surrounding you.

Another superb view of the Lake and its surroundings can be found at Monte Baldo. A rotating cable-car scales the mountain-side from the centre of Malcesine to take you to the top of Monte Baldo. The station at the top end is 1800m above the Lake and an ideal starting point for hikes, paragliding or mountain bike tours. Otherwise you can take the trip up to enjoy the views and lunch in the top station before riding back down in the cable car.

During the busier periods, there is a local tourist bus that travels around town making it easy to get about without driving. If you want to explore a little further, the ferries travel all over Lake Garda from Malcesine. Limone sul Garda, opposite and on the west side of the lake, is also easily accessible by boat from Malcesine.
